Why oh why is this hour of bliss hidden in the religious dvds ?Sep 27, 2005

Just a quickie review for the uninitiated.
Buddha Bar is a posh and world famous club / watering hole founded by Raymond Visan in the financial district of Paris.Rumour has it that it is owned by none other than Johnny Depp, and the music is provided by DJ's such as Ravin, the Jr David Visan and of course, Claude Challe. It was however when Claude Challe lent his incredible mixing talents to Buddha bar that everything took of in the global fame arena. Think ambient/ chill out music with ethnic influences (for more detail check out the excellent series of Buddha Bar and Nirvana Lounge albums under Challe in amazon music - but be warned cheap they are not!!)
So now you can work out what sort of music is in store for just short of an hour for the main feature, what about the visuals ? - Think of a near perfect mix of Francis Ford Coppollas "Koyaanisqatsi"( slow mo, time lapse etc) and Brit wildlife expert David Attenborough`s ("Blue Planet") stunning wildlife/landscape imagery and your there !!!
Unless word of mouth raises its profile this superb visual/auditory experience could have to resign itself to becoming a minority cult classic - do yourself a favour and join that cult if you want to
- chill out in style
- impress others with your immaculate taste
- show amazon you can search out gems from there hidden depths

Very relaxing except for animal hunting scenes that are violent and disturb the ambiance the rest of the video produces; especially for the children.

As a big fan of the Buddha-bar cd's,I picked up the DVD Buddha-bar Nature, not knowing what to expect (except good music) I was delighted and I'm now sold on the idea and cannot wait for the next one.

"World Traveler"
I first watched this video while I was on a soul searching trip to Cancun (it was on a 24-hour loop on one of the hotel TV stations). The music and imagery set the tone for my whole trip. I used it as background music for my meditation. When I returned I bought it so I could continue to use it to support my spiritual journey. When I opened the DVD I was delighted to find that there was also a CD of the music so I can listen to it in my car as well.

I had seen this DVD at a friends place who also has a large LCD screen in his living area (living room, dining room). I liked the effect so much during the meal, the music and the breathtaking movie scenes in wild nature that I decided to order the product and I am very pleased about it...
