This is the story of Sulakshana Devi, to whom principles are the biggest thing in her life. She is a widow with two sons and a daughter and lived in a chawl. The landlord of the chawl behaves badly with her and robs her of her money. Her younger son Karan goes to settle things with the landlord but is sent to the childrens remand home. Sulakshana Devi comes away to the city with her one son and daughter. karan runsaway from the remand home and reaches the city. Karan begins to work in a garage with his friend Vinod. Karan who once chases a jeep and catches the driver who is carrying a lot of drugs with him. Then enters Devrajkamat who is a doctor but actually a big name in the underworld. Devraj Kamat offers Karan to work with him. Karan refuses. Devraj informs his rival Rattan about Karan saying that he was the man who hit his driver and because of him his drugs were caught. Rattan frames Karan for a murder of a Polce Officer. Karan sees his mother in court but cannot go up to her. Karan is freed by Devraj on one condition that he has to work for him. Karan now enters the underworld. He falls in love with Madhusen. Karan is entagled between the two rivals. Finally Karan tells Sulakshana Devi he is her long lost son but she does not accept him because he is a criminal. How he sorts out his life and that of his siblings forms the rest of the story.
