RecommendedSep 30, 2004 Back in the mid-`90s there was no shortage of incredible punk bands passing through Chicago; luckily Bob and Mike Byrne were there, filming it all for their video `zine, Out of Focus. Now releasing some of the highlights on DVD, this first installment features incredible live footage of Green Day, Jawbreaker, the criminally underrated Sludgeworth, Moral Crux, Econochrist, Capitalist Casualties, Spitboy, Fifteen, Down By Law... the list goes on and on (check the website for the full lineup). The sound and visual quality is great on almost all of the footage here (although the Voodoo Glow Skulls' horn section overpower their vocalists, not that we care); the only times anyone will want to skip parts of this cool DVD will simply come down to personal taste. Oh, and the home video-type interludes are pretty hit and miss, although some of them are pretty damn funny as well.
